Of my mind, to stay, in love
You ask me to stay.
I cannot stay.
Your hand, it touches my arm,
and it grabs at my heart,
and it tears at my mind.
I cannot stay.
Your lips, they whisper to my ear,
and call to my pain,
and kiss my cheek.
You ask me to stay.
I cannot stay.
Why not?
Every time that I awake and
see your full-of-beauty nymph-like face,
I’m reminded of the bitter truth that
I do not believe in nymphs.
Nymphs are the Mind’s creation,
teasing the Eyes with a presence so pure…
You ask me to stay.
I cannot stay.
You are my love, my only sight
my only strength, you are my Light.
but once again I arrive at the same conclusion:
I cannot see,
I cannot hold,
I cannot shine,
I cannot stay.
You are my love, but how could I ever believe
in you, in love,
if the only love I knew was
a nymph?
